TransferPro for Windows lets you store, edit, and archive Macintosh files on your
PC! Supports Macintosh formatted floppy disks as well as Macintosh formatted
removable media disks such as Zip.
Reduce network load
Why bog down your network transferring large files between workstations and personal
computers? Use TransferPro to move those files to and from Macintosh, MS-DOS, or UNIX
formatted cartridges or disks. TransferPro is faster than a network when copying large
files.
Supports many types of media
TransferPro will read and write to Macintosh floppy disks and also to any standard SCSI device, and will format the
following types of devices:
- Iomega Bernoulli (up to 150MB), Zip, and Jaz cartridge drives
- SyQuest drives in 44, 88, 200, 105, 270, and EZ135 formats
- Magneto-optical drives up to 2.6GB and 512 bytes/sector (all formats) and 1024
bytes/sector (Macintosh only)
- SCSI-based floppy and floptical drives, as well as internal floppy drives (non-SCSI)
- Fixed SCSI hard drives
- DataDock and Data Shuttle removable hard drives
TransferPro will also read from Macintosh-formatted CD-ROMs.
System administration not necessary
TransferPro eliminates the need to use commands like bar, tar, and mount. It also
allows users to format Macintosh and MS-DOS devices without root privileges.
Additional features
TransferPro has character filters that can change the end-of-line characters in a text
file. For instance, the EOL (end-of-line) character for the Macintosh is a
carriage-return, while the EOL character for the PC is a carriage-return/linefeed.
TransferPro also contains graphics filters that can convert many types of Macintosh
graphics file formats to many popular PC graphics formats and back again, as well as
graphics and text viewers for many file formats. TransferPro for Windows 3.x, 95, and NT
versions support multiple-partition volumes of up to 4GB per partition. NT versions also
boast faster copy and delete speeds; about 8x faster then previous versions. For instance,
a 220MB file that used to take 35 minutes to copy now takes only 4.5 minutes.
